A joint narcotics operation executed by detectives from the Southbridge and Charlton Police Departments culminated in the arrest of two individuals suspected of trafficking fentanyl and various other controlled substances. The arrests and seizures, which transpired on Saturday, were detailed in a social media post released by the Southbridge Police Department.
Surveillance of a male and a female suspected of drug dealing activities led detectives to a methadone clinic on Main Street, Southbridge. The male, after departing from the clinic in a black sedan, was observed participating in what appeared to be a drug transaction with another male. The vehicle of the individual who met him was then stopped by detectives, uncovering a stash of what is believed to be oxycodone.
Subsequent to the vehicle stop, the investigation facilitated a search where over 500 bags of suspected fentanyl and a large sum of cash were discovered, thought to be associated with drug profits. According to the Southbridge Police Department's post, the search later extended to a Holland property where detectives found an assortment of drugs, a handgun, and ammunition — all earmarked for distribution.
The collaborative effort between local authorities led to the apprehension of Nicholas J. Harrington, aged 31, and Sherry A. Robidoux, aged 33. Both residents of Holland, MA, were charged with multiple drug-related offenses. Found in their possession at the time of their detainment near the clinic, the law enforcement officers were believed to have seized a significant amount of illicit drugs.
The apprehended individuals are being held on a $50,000 cash bail while awaiting their arraignment in Palmer District Court. Both are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Further charges, including unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, are anticipated by the Holland Police Department.
