Residents of Springfield Township awoke to the unwelcome news of a series of vehicle break-ins reported overnight. The Springfield Township Police Department took to social media to inform the public that multiple incidents occurred in the vicinity of Pickle Road, Millstone Drive, and Titleist Drive, as well as in the City of Green. According to the official Springfield Township Police Department post, these crimes are believed to have taken place early in the morning, between 4:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m.
Further complicating matters, a truck stolen in Green is suspected of being used to facilitate the break-ins. The police department's appeal for community assistance could glean insight, as they requested residents with security camera footage or those who noticed any suspicious activity during those hours to contact the dispatch center. Stolen items and damages have yet to be assessed, but the aggregated loss is feared to be significant.
Amidst an increase in localized crime, the police department has issued crime prevention tips urging the community to lock their vehicle doors, remove valuables each night, employ exterior lights or motion-sensor lighting, and report any suspicious persons or vehicles immediately. "Your cooperation is vital in helping us identify those responsible and prevent future incidents," remarked the Springfield Township Police Department in their message to the township's residents.
Anyone with information can reach the Springfield Township dispatch center at 330-733-1061, as every piece of information could prove crucial in piecing together last night's events.
