
On the 24th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, along with the City of St. Augustine and other local law enforcement agencies, held a remembrance ceremony to honor those who died in 2001. The event brought together community members and first responders to remember the victims. In the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office's Facebook post, the office noted the anniversary and stated it would continue to honor the victims and the bravery of first responders.
Participating agencies included St. Johns County Fire Rescue, St. Augustine Police Department, St. Augustine Beach Police Department, and St. Augustine Fire Department. Wreaths and flowers were placed at the ceremony, accompanied by salutes from attending personnel.
