A woman sustained injuries during a robbery in the Dutchtown area, as St. Louis police are now seeking assistance in identifying the suspect involved in the incident. On the morning of September 11, just before 10:30 a.m., a 29-year-old woman was attacked while sitting in her vehicle on the 3700 block of Chippewa.
The incident rapidly escalated when, an unknown female suspect allegedly opened the woman's car door and threatened her with a knife, demanding she not move. In an act of self-defense, the woman grabbed at the knife and consequently suffered a stab wound to the neck and a cut on her hand. Following the attack, she was able to flee to safety but not before the assailant took off with her purse, which contained an undisclosed amount of money, according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
Emergency medical services responded to the scene and transported the victim to the hospital where she was listed in serious, but stable condition. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department's District 1 detectives are investigating the matter and have released a photo of the suspect, with an important clarification that the suspect's clothing appeared to be purple due to the surveillance video's technical settings, but was actually all black with a blue surgical mask, as per the SLMPD report.
