
A St. Petersburg man has been arrested on allegations involving child pornography. Anthony Butcher, 26, faces multiple charges after detectives with the Crimes Against Children Unit uncovered evidence that he allegedly possessed and distributed illicit material online, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation began after detectives received tips about child pornography being accessed and shared online. Using investigative techniques, authorities traced the activity to Butcher and found images involving children between the ages of three and ten.
Butcher was arrested yesterday and charged with five counts of possession and five counts of transmission of child pornography. He was booked into the Pinellas County Jail. Information about his bail has not been disclosed.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities urge anyone with information related to child exploitation to contact law enforcement.
