Authorities in Statesville are investigating an incident involving a doll found hanging from a street sign above an election sign for Doris Allison, Ward 3 City Council member. According to the Statesville Police Department (SPD) Facebook page, officers responded to the scene on Monday at about 5:38 p.m. at Wilson Lee Boulevard and Fayetteville Avenue after reports of suspicious activity.
The property owner who reported the incident believed the display targeted Council Representative Allison. The Statesville Police Department seized the doll and rope as evidence. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is assisting with the investigation.
The Statesville Police Department is requesting information from the public. Anyone with knowledge of the incident is asked to contact SPD at 704-878-3518 or submit tips anonymously through the department’s website using the See Something Say Something form.
