The Statesville Police Department recently highlighted School Resource Officer (SRO) Shannon Finis. Officer Finis serves at Northview Academy and focuses on building relationships with students.
As per the Statesville Police Department's Facebook post ,she has 12 years of law enforcement experience and is in her second year as an SRO. She values creating connections with Statesville youth and recognizes the role of school staff and administration in shaping the school environment.
Outside of work, Officer Finis enjoys hiking, gardening, and studying psychology. She has an interest in how the brain works and follows true crime stories.
She shared advice she would give her younger self about viewing setbacks as potential opportunities. This year, she plans to help students develop leadership and character skills.
