The City of Sterling Heights and AGS Automotive launched the Inspiring Green initiative on Monday to support environmental sustainability. At a ribbon-cutting event at AGS’s 18 ½ Mile Road facility, AGS donated $30,000 to plant over 90 trees and fund other landscaping projects across the city. Mayor Michael Taylor said, "The Inspiring Green Initiative allows us to transform roadways and public spaces into greener, healthier environments that will benefit residents for generations." AGS Automotive is the first Inspire Partner for the program, according to the City of Sterling Heights.
AGS Automotive Co-President Joe Loparco said, "It is a real honor for AGS to be part of the City’s Inspiring Green Initiative." He added, "I’m excited to see them lined with trees and to imagine how big and beautiful they will be in a decade for our kids and our community," as reported by the City of Sterling Heights.
The Inspiring Green initiative in Sterling Heights builds on the city’s Adopt-a-Road program. It allows businesses and organizations to join at different partnership levels, supporting environmental projects and receiving public recognition for their contributions. Residents and businesses can find more information about the program and partnership options on the City of Sterling Heights website.
