Residents of Sterling Heights are about to find their home improvement projects a little less cumbersome. The city recognizes that arranging necessary inspections for some upgrades can be a bit of a hassle, so they’re kicking off a trial run for a Homeowner Convenience Inspection (HCI) program, according to the City of Sterling Heights official announcement. This program aims to streamline the inspection process and, is created with the comfort and convenience of homeowners in mind.
Starting today, those looking to replace their furnaces, air conditioning units, water heaters, or to have electrical services inspected can schedule their inspections during two new time slots: one early morning session from 7:30-8:30 a.m. and another in the late afternoon from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Homeowners interested in taking advantage of this offering need to plan ahead, though, by scheduling their inspections at least seven days in advance, by selecting "HCI" as the inspection type when booking their appointment online, as reported by the City of Sterling Heights.
After locking in an online appointment, residents must reach out directly to the corresponding inspectors. For plumbing inspections, they can dial 586-446-2355. For heavyweight electrical concerns, two numbers are available: 586-446-2379 or 586-446-2381. And mechanical inspection queries can be directed to either 586-446-2363 or 586-446-2379, as detailed by the City of Sterling Heights. If residents have any questions or run into issues, they can contact the City Development department at 586-446-2360 for help.
