The Stockton community is grappling with the aftermath of a deadly hit-and-run incident that claimed the life of a 60-year-old man. According to ABC10, the incident occurred last Friday night around 7:40 p.m. near the intersection of Martin Luther King Boulevard and Hunter Street in the Seaport District of Stockton.
The victim was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Stockton Police are currently on the lookout for the driver, who is described as a Hispanic man that abandoned his vehicle and left the scene following the crash. An investigation is underway to ascertain the full details of the event.
CBS Sacramento reported that after hitting the man, the driver proceeded to abandon the vehicle—a critical piece of evidence that now sits idle, waiting for forensic experts to extract whichever tales of DNA or residual human behavior left behind. The police have not yet released the identity of the man who was killed, and the reason for the fatal collision remains a question that haunts the Seaport District streets.
