
In a recent turn of events in the Seaport District of Stockton, a 49-year-old man faced a violent encounter while sitting in his car. The Stockton Police Department reported that the victim was assaulted by a known suspect, who both strangled and struck him with an object. The suspect also made threats to the victim's life during the altercation.
According to the Stockton Police Department, officers responded swiftly and took the 25-year-old suspect, Juan Arias, into custody without further incidents. Arias now faces several charges following the attack, including assault with a deadly weapon, battery and criminal threats.
The events that unfolded took place on the 1200 Block of South Commerce Street, a stretch of the district often bustling with activity but not typically known for such violent occurrences. The police have not yet released the condition of the victim post-assault.
