Suffolk County Police Request Witnesses in North Bellport Hit-and-Run That Injured Teens. In a statement obtained by ABC7NY, police said the incident occurred last Friday night when a white, midsize Jeep SUV struck two teenagers as they were crossing Station Road at the intersection of Patchogue Avenue at around 9:38 p.m. The vehicle is reportedly to have then fled south towards Montauk Highway.
According to the same ABC7NY report, the SUV is believed to have damage to the front left corner, including the headlight. Detectives from the Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit have released an image of the suspected vehicle, seeking assistance from the public in identifying it. Fifteen-year-old D'Ajiah Mitchell was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries, while 14-year-old Kevin Reese was transported to NYU Langone Hospital – Suffolk County with minor injuries.
In an effort to generate leads, detectives are asking individuals who may know anything about the hit-and-run to contact Suffolk County Police. As noted by News 12 Long Island, "Anyone with information about the hit-and-run is asked to call police."
