Los Angeles can expect a week of classic Southern California weather. The forecast calls for sunny days with pockets of morning and evening fog, and temperatures gradually rising to the upper 80s by midweek, according to the National Weather Service.
Angelenos can look forward to clear skies today with a comfortable high near 78 degrees and a light afternoon breeze of 5 to 10 mph. Tonight, however, clouds will move in, bringing an overnight low around 62. The weekend forecast calls for foggy nights, especially after 11 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, followed by mostly sunny days, as per the NWS.
Friday morning's cloud cover is expected to make "gradual clearing," with highs inching up to near 79 degrees. The light winds in the forecast seem to promise a respite for those weary of the more extreme conditions that can beset this sprawling metropolis. Light and variable winds will become southwest at 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. For those planning any start-of-the-weekend excursions, it might be wise to note the shift from mostly sunny to "mostly cloudy, with a low around 63" as the evening progresses.
Looking into next week, Monday continues the trend of finesse between fog and sunshine. "Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, mostly sunny," with highs expected to reach near 84 degrees, the NWS reported. Los Angeles residents can enjoy a stretch of comfortable weather before a midweek warm-up. Temperatures will gradually rise, reaching a high near 89 by Wednesday.
