A man has been arrested and charged in connection with an armed assault that took place during a parking dispute in Northeast D.C. earlier this month. According to a statement by the Metropolitan Police Department, the confrontation unfolded on the 100 block of 42nd Street, Northeast on September 8, where 34-year-old Dashon Williams is alleged to have pointed a handgun at another individual before fleeing the scene.
Following an investigation, the MPD's Violent Crime Suppression Division, alongside officers from the Sixth District, apprehended Williams on Monday; he has since been charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun), as further details emerged from the department's narrative of the event. Williams, a Southeast, D.C. resident, now faces serious legal repercussions, though no injuries were reported in the initial altercation, which had erupted over a parking space.
According to the MPD announcement, the arrest is a culmination of two-week-long efforts by law enforcement to track down the suspect implicated in the potentially deadly dispute.
