
In a recent incident out of Kapolei, a man claiming to be a U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer has been apprehended following allegations of terroristic threatening. According to an official social media post by the Honolulu Police Department, on Monday morning, police responded to a distress call from a 33-year-old woman who claimed that a 42-year-old male, during an altercation, had brandished the butt of a gun and issued threats against her life.
The arrested suspect, when precinct officers arrived on the scenario was quick to identify himself as an officer affiliated with Customs and Border Protection, indeed, he presented proper credentials to substantiate his assertion before being taken into custody by Honolulu Police. As reported by KHON2, charges for 'Terroristic Threatening in the First Degree' are being pursued by the Department of the Prosecuting Attorney against the man.
The incident has prompted U.S. Customs and Border Protection to publicly distance themselves from the actions of the officer, affirming their commitment to professional conduct. "We do not tolerate misbehavior or abuse within our ranks, and we fully cooperate with any criminal or administrative investigations of alleged misconduct by any of our personnel, on or off duty," the agency stated, emphasizing the core values of honor and integrity upheld among its workforce, as noted by KHON2.
