A recent string of events has led to the arrest of a suspect in connection with a robbery and assault in Northeast DC. The Metropolitan Police Department reported that on Sunday evening, around 11:13 p.m., individuals were attacked by a group of suspects on the 5600 block of Nannie Helen Burrough Avenue. The victims suffered physical assault, after which the assailants proceeded to rob them of their belongings before slipping away into the night.
The following day, an investigation led Sixth District officers to the intersection of 63rd Street and Clay Street, Northeast. During their investigation, which was sparked by reports of armed individuals in the area, the police identified a subject linked to the prior night's robbery. It was 21-year-old Marquis Adams from Southeast, DC, who was taken into custody and is now facing robbery charges.
