A Tampa resident has been indicted on charges related to producing and possessing child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Michael Antwohn Wilson, 38, faces up to 80 years in federal prison if convicted on all counts, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. Authorities are also seeking the forfeiture of Wilson’s camera, cellphone, and SD cards.

The indictment states Wilson allegedly produced and attempted to produce CSAM on April 27 and February 23, 2023, and possessed CSAM—including material depicting children under 12—until his arrest on June 26. An indictment is a formal accusation, and Wilson is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

The investigation involves the Tampa Police Department, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, and the FBI. Assistant U.S. Attorney Ilyssa M. Spergel will prosecute the case, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice initiative launched in 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
