The Tampa Police Department has launched a death investigation after a body was discovered in a vacant lot on the 1500 block of N. 39th Street. Officers responded to the scene around 1:30 p.m. on yesterday after receiving information about the body, WFLA reported.
The identity of the deceased has not been confirmed, and officials are working to identify the individual to notify next of kin. According to FOX 13 News, the Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause of death. Authorities have not stated whether the death is considered suspicious.
WTSP reported that no additional information was immediately available following the discovery. The Tampa Police Department said the investigation is ongoing as detectives gather evidence.
