The Metropolitan Police Department recently reported the apprehension of a young suspect linked to two separate vehicle-related crimes in Northwest DC. According to the official announcement, on August 11, at around 12:15 p.m., a car was stolen from the 400 block of K Street as the owner left it idling during a package delivery run. The incident was recorded under CCN 25122069.
Just a few days later, on August 14 near the same location, around 2:20 p.m., a different victim was forcibly removed from their vehicle by an assailant. Forcibly ejected but unharmed, the victim watched as the thief made off with the stolen car. This second episode, captured under CCN 25123857, also concludes with the vehicle being recovered.
Following these incidents, the suspect, a 17-year-old juvenile male from Northwest, was arrested on Tuesday, September 23. According to the police report, the arrest occurred "pursuant to a DC Superior Court custody order." The charges put forward against the underage male include Theft One (Stolen Auto) and Carjacking.
