
A 15-year-old boy has been shot and killed at a west side party in Cleveland, with an 18-year-old now facing obstruction charges related to the incident. The fatal shooting occurred early Sunday morning, and according to the Cleveland19 report, police responded to a call of a fight near West 130th Street and Lorain Avenue around 12:19 a.m., where they soon after learned that shots were fired.
Cleveland police found the young victim with a gunshot wound upon their arrival, and he was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS. The circumstances leading to the teenager's death are being investigated by the Cleveland Division of Police Homicide Unit. The party was taking place at a short-term rental property, commonly known as an Airbnb. The Cleveland article reported that the suspect in custody was apprehended after the Crime Scene Unit utilized resources including the Real Time Crime Center, a helicopter, and a K-9 unit to quickly develop and to surely apprehend a suspect.
In the wake of the incident, Cleveland police have taken an 18-year-old into custody on obstruction charges. The suspect is currently being held at the Cuyahoga County Jail.
