A stolen vehicle incident in Warren led to gunfire and a police chase on Friday evening, leaving one person injured but expected to recover. The incident began around 6:30 p.m. near 8 Mile and Waltham roads when Warren police located a stolen GMC Acadia carrying four people, as per ClickOnDetroit.
Police reported that when officers approached the vehicle, it tried to flee, hitting two patrol cars and driving toward officers. According to FOX 2 Detroit, police then fired at the GMC. The chase ended in Detroit near Yonka Street when the vehicle became disabled. All four people inside were taken into custody, and one who was shot was taken to a hospital.
WXYZ reports that it is not clear who fired the shots during the incident. One person was shot and is in stable condition, and three other suspects were taken to the Warren jail. No officers were injured. Police said there is no immediate threat to the community, and the incident remains under investigation.
