Drivers in Terrebonne Parish are facing an indefinite weight restriction on the Madison Canal Bridge along both LA 55 Northbound and LA 55 Southbound lanes. Starting from Friday, September 12, at 2:00 PM, a limit of 5 tons has been imposed on the bridge as reported by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD). This move is triggered by roadwork necessitated to preserve the safety and integrity of the thoroughfare.
Commuters are advised to plan ahead as a 5-ton weight restriction is now in place on the Madison Canal Bridge.
The restriction is indefinite, with no end date announced. Larger vehicles, including commercial trucks, will need to use alternate routes. DOTD will provide updates when the restriction is lifted.
