Abbott has also communicated with federal officials, promising to provide whatever resources necessary to utterly break down this attempted assassination. As noted by the Office of the Texas Governor, "I have been in communication with federal officials and assured them, the State of Texas will provide all necessary resources to investigate this attempted assassination," Abbott stated. He made clear that Texas authorities would continue to rigorously work alongside the Department of Homeland Security and ICE to "arrest, detain, and deport any individuals in this country illegally — without interruption."
