
The ongoing investigation into the 2024 Dunbar Road homicide in Southeast has led to a third arrest, the Metropolitan Police Department announced. On November 8, 2024, officers discovered the decomposed remains of a young male who was later identified as 18-year-old Alexander Ariel Pavon-Rios of Northwest, D.C. According to the official statement, an autopsy revealed that Pavon-Rios died from multiple gunshot wounds, and the case was ruled a homicide.
Two suspects have previously been apprehended in connection with this case. Miguel Antonio Hernandez-Orantes, a 25-year-old from Northeast D.C., was charged with First Degree Murder while Armed (Premeditated) on March 16, 2025. Following the trail of evidence, on March 18, 2025, Antonio Benahias Morales, age 29, from Capitol Heights, MD, found himself in custody under the same charges. Recently, the investigation led to a new break in the case.
Angel Manfredi Campos-Melendez, a 21-year-old from Morningside, MD, was the latest to be arrested on Tuesday and charged with First Degree Murder while Armed (Premeditated). Campos-Melendez's arrest was issued by a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant, as the police continue to unravel the circumstances surrounding the tragic death of Pavon-Rios.
