Las Vegas has once again been marked by tragedy as three teenagers are now facing charges after a fatal shooting that occurred near a basketball court in the east side of the city. Yesterday morning, a shooting on Washington Avenue near Lamb Boulevard resulted in one man's death at the scene following an attempted robbery, while two others were critically injured and are currently receiving care at a local hospital, as reported by FOX5 Vegas.
Details from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reveal that a man was sitting with a woman on a bench when two young individuals approached them, brandished firearms, and an altercation ensued whereby shots rang out, leaving one individual dead and two others in critical condition. Meanwhile, the suspects attempted a getaway but were apprehended by police. Further to the initial information, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that 17-year-old Jose Juarez has been booked at the Clark County Detention Center on charges including murder and attempted robbery.
The surviving victims' names have not been released as they continue to fight for their lives, characterized by the police department as being in "stable but critical condition," as noted by the Las Vegas Review-Journal. With the investigation ongoing, authorities encourage anyone with information to come forward and contact the Las Vegas Police Department, and tips can be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
