
A 19-year-old man was fatally shot last night in Queens. As reported by the New York Post, emergency services were summoned to the scene near 64th Road and Grand Central Parkway in Forest Hills at approximately 7:40 p.m.
Upon arrival, police found Jean Rios with a critical gunshot wound to the chest. He was quickly transported to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital by emergency medical technicians, but his injuries were fatal, and he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Authorities have released limited information about potential suspects, stating only that three males were seen fleeing the area either on foot or on a moped. No arrests have been made in connection with the incident, and the investigation remains ongoing.
According to Gothamist, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz was present at the scene, where blue and yellow caution tape cordoned off the road. NYPD data shows a brief decline in violent crime last year.
