Authorities in Travis County are on the hunt for 28-year-old Olmer Lopez, who is currently wanted in connection with the death of his ex-girlfriend, 33-year-old Yury Bobadilla, FOX 7 Austin reports. The incident occurred at an apartment complex in Manor, where, according to the Travis County Sheriff's Office, Lopez pushed Bobadilla into the path of a moving vehicle following a physical altercation.
The event unfolded in the early hours of Aug. 31, shortly before 1 a.m. when deputies were summoned to the 8400 block of E Parmer Lane after receiving disturbance calls, deputies found the critically injured Bobadilla on the pavement and despite resuscitative efforts, she was pronounced dead at a local hospital a few hours later, meanwhile, Lopez had fled the scene and has yet to be apprehended, detailed by CBS Austin.
Further investigation, bolstered by witness statements and surveillance footage, indicates that prior to her tragic fate, Bobadilla had suffered abuse at the hands of Lopez. The U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force has joined the search for Lopez, who now has an active warrant out for his arrest on charges of second-degree felony aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury.
The Travis County Medical Examiner's Office is expected to conduct an autopsy to confirm the official cause and manner of death. Those with any information regarding Lopez's whereabouts are urged to step forward and can anonymously contact the TCSO tip line at 512-854-1444 or Crime Stoppers at 512-472-8477, aiding in the ongoing pursuit of justice for Yury Bobadilla.
