The Pima County Sheriff's Department has revealed the arrest of Vamsi Potiny, 42, in connection with the disappearance of his father, Sitharamanjaneyulu Potiny, reported missing since August 29, according to FOX 10 Phoenix. The 72-year-old man, described as 5'3" in height and 160 pounds in weight, was last seen walking near Candlepine Drive and Yedra Road in Tucson, prompting an active Silver Alert due to his medical condition that could lead him to become disoriented.
On Wednesday, detectives arrested Vamsi Potiny, the missing man’s son, on probable cause for endangerment and vulnerable adult abuse. The search for Sitharamanjaneyulu stretches on with new leads suggesting he may have made it as far as the Mt. Lemmon Trailhead area, per 12 News.
PCSD has urged anyone who has information about the missing senior to step forward and help shed light on his current whereabouts. "The investigation remains active," 12 News stated.
