Residents in Tennessee can join "Tune It Tuesday" on September 23 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. to get help programming their NOAA Weather Radios. Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, Lowe's, and local emergency management agencies will provide support, and batteries for new or used radios will be available while supplies last. "Weather radios are one of the most reliable tools during forecasted severe weather or an emergency," according to the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency.
The event will be at 22 Lowe's locations in Tennessee. Local emergency management teams will help with radio programming. A limited number of free NOAA Weather Radios from the Tennessee Valley Authority will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, and others can be bought at Lowe's. People can contact their local emergency management agencies for questions or help, and those who cannot attend can still get a radio and programming assistance, as reported by the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency.
No pre-registration is needed for Tune It Tuesday. Anyone can visit a participating Lowe's store during the specified hours to get services. Weather radios are available, which help keep you informed during emergencies, and Tennessee Emergency Management Agency said, "That means you can still get life-saving alerts when it matters most." Counties not listed can still join, and Tennessee Emergency Management Agency plans to include more counties in future events.
