Two individuals found asleep in a storage unit were arrested yesterday, after deputies responded to a call regarding an abandoned vehicle at the Huffmeister Boat Storage on Schmidt Road. The two, identified as Johnathan Sacco and Melody Avera, were dealing with issues beyond just finding a place to stay for the night.
Sacco initially attempted to mislead Harris County deputies by providing a false name and date of birth. It was later discovered that he had an outstanding warrant from Pardons and Parole for an unspecified offense, as well as a misdemeanor warrant from Harris County for a Terroristic Threat. Avera claimed she was alone inside the storage unit, according to a social media post from Constable Mark Herman's Office. Authorities found that she had tried to hide Sacco underneath a trailer when they arrived.
Their arrest led to Sacco facing an additional charge of Failure to Identify as a Fugitive from Justice, with his bond set at $6,000. Avera's efforts to hinder Sacco's apprehension earned her a charge for Hindering Apprehension, and a relatively lighter bond of $500. The two were booked into the Harris County Jail following their apprehension.
