Tragedy struck in Aliquippa, Beaver County, over the weekend when two individuals were fatally wounded in a shooting incident. Pennsylvania State Police were dispatched Saturday evening to the 900 block of Franklin Avenue after receiving reports of gunshot victims, as detailed in a report from WPXI. On the scene, officers discovered Cynthia Zipfel, 43, deceased in her vehicle.
Shortly following the discovery of Zipfel, Jalen Love, 26, was found in a parking lot in proximity, suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts to save him, Love succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Preliminary investigations indicate Zipfel and Love were the only individuals involved in the incident, as noted in a statement detailed by WTAE.
The Aliquippa Police Department initially responded to the tragic event, but responsibility for the ongoing investigation was subsequently transferred to the Pennsylvania State Police. The reason behind this decision to transfer the case has not been disclosed to the public.
