Two individuals were taken to an area hospital following a severe rollover accident in Arapahoe County on Monday. The incident, involving a BMW that ended up inverted between two horse trailers, occurred just before 2 p.m., near the intersection of Parker Road and Chambers Road, southeast of Cherry Creek Reservoir.
The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office reported that the vehicle departed from the road for reasons that are still under investigation by the Colorado State Patrol. Further details indicated that the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed when the car careened off the roadway, as witnesses described to authorities, KDVR reports.
According to The Denver Post, the BMW was seen speeding southbound before it veered off the road, broke through a fence, and came to rest upside-down, lodged between horse trailers. The Sheriff's office confirmed that both the driver and a passenger sustained serious injuries due to the accident and were promptly transported to the hospital for treatment.
Moreover, authorities have not yet released the identities of the injured parties. KKTV disclosed that the crash is being dissected by the Colorado State Patrol in an attempt to elucidate the events leading up to the mishap and to determine the exact cause of the driver's loss of control.
