In a drug enforcement operation highlighting the regional and statewide impact of drug trafficking, two Massachusetts women were arrested in Boston’s Mass and Cass area and now face serious charges. According to Boston 25 News, 33-year-old Breanna James from Mansfield and 43-year-old Amnesty Davis from Dorchester were taken into custody after officers witnessed an alleged drug deal.
Suffolk District Attorney Kevin Hayden highlighted the gravity of the situation, stating "We time and again see offenders in this area who are not from the area, or Boston, or even Suffolk County", as reported by Boston Herald. The arrest happened when officers on duty observed a transaction involving a third woman, who later admitted to purchasing crack cocaine from James and Davis.
Officers reported finding $10 in Davis’s hand and an initial $100 in cash, with another $350 later concealed in James’s bra. A search of both individuals yielded 40 bags of crack cocaine and 20 bags of fentanyl. James faces multiple drug charges, including trafficking fentanyl over 10 grams and conspiracy to violate drug laws. Davis is charged with distribution of a Class B substance and conspiracy, and is also the subject of default warrants related to unrelated offenses.
Emphasizing their commitment to tackling the drug-related issues in the Mass and Cass area, Hayden asserted, "We are very aware of what's happening in this area and we're bringing a mix of tough enforcement along with effective services to reduce troublesome activity and improve neighborhood quality of life", in a statement obtained by Boston Herald. Both women have been ordered to post a $15,000 bail and are due back in court on October 6 for a probable cause hearing.
