
Early morning yesterday, a fire broke out at a mobile home in Brooksville, resulting in two men being treated for smoke inhalation, one of whom was hospitalized. Hernando County Fire Rescue (HCFR) responded to the incident at about 5:30 a.m. and found heavy smoke coming from the front bedroom of the residence on Golddust Road. According to WFLA, firefighters brought the fire under control within a few hours and confirmed all occupants had escaped before their arrival.
FOX 13 News reported that the fire was contained while a search for possible victims was conducted. HCFR said no injuries occurred among firefighters, but one individual was hospitalized for smoke inhalation.
WTSP, citing an Hernando County Fire Rescue Facebook post, reported that crews made an aggressive attack on the flames and ensured all occupants’ safety.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and HCFR officials are investigating the circumstances leading up to the incident.
