Voting precincts in several Union County towns are experiencing temporary changes, prompting officials to redirect voters to new polling locations for the coming elections. Due to these modifications, residents of the Town of Mineral Springs, Village of Marvin, Town of Marshville, Village of Wesley Chapel, and Town of Wingate will need to take note of where they should cast their ballots, as per the Union County's announcement.
The Town of Mineral Springs has announced that voters from Precinct #007 Mt. Carmel Church will now head to Precinct #0019 Mineral Springs VFD, located at 5804 Waxhaw Highway in Monroe. Additionally, in the Village of Marvin, voters from Precinct #028C Marvin AME Zion Church are being asked to vote at Precinct #028B Marvin Elementary School, at 9700 Marvin School Road, Waxhaw.
In the Town of Marshville, the precinct changes will affect residents from Precinct #036 Crossroads AME Zion Church, who are directed to now place their votes at Precinct #009 Edwards Memorial Library, 414 Hasty Street. Meanwhile those from the Town of Wesley Chapel in Precinct #0042 New Salem Baptist Church, will shift to Precinct #017A Wesley Chapel Elementary School, located at 110 South Potter Rd., Monroe.
Finally, voters in the Town of Wingate, will not meet at their usual Precinct #036 Crossroads AME Zion Church but instead, are redirected to Precinct #008 Wingate Community Center, at 315 West Elm Street. These temporary changes, which were officially adopted on July 22, aim to ensure that all voters have access to their right to vote despite logistical challenges that have necessitated the reassignment of voting precincts.
The full details of these changes were published on Wednesday and can be accessed on the Union County government's official website. Voters are encouraged to review this information and plan accordingly to ensure their voices are heard in the upcoming elections.
