The Jr. Aggies Academy at Utah State University Blanding has caught the spotlight for its exemplary child care services, earning national recognition from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Cementing its commitment to quality early childhood education, the recognition was officially awarded in July, as reported by USU Today.

Ciara Walker, director of the Jr. Aggies Academy, emphasized the academy's dedication to upholding exceptional standards. "These ratings show that our center meets high-quality standards in the care and education of the young children who we serve," Walker told USU Today. The sought-after NAEYC endorsement signifies that the daycare is not only secure but also compelled to adhere to extensive educational, health, and safety standards daily.

The accreditation process involves an in-depth assessment, with peer reviewers and auditors from NAEYC examining the program against rigorous criteria. These include the application of child development knowledge, cooperation with families and communities, and the implementation of developmentally appropriate teaching practices. The Jr. Aggies program, serving infants to preschool-aged children, has three distinct classrooms equipped with curricula that cater to each age group's developmental milestones.

Lisa Boyce, a professor from the Department of Human Development and Family Studies, recognized the center's effort in enriching the educational experience of the children. "They have worked to train their staff to implement evidence-based curricula and developmentally appropriate practices in each of their classrooms," Boyce told USU Today, underscoring the dual benefit of both nurturing the children and providing a training ground for USU students.

Parents and staff alike have noticed the positive impact the childcare center has on their kids. Priscilla Arungwa, director of student services, expressed her pride in the Jr. Aggies staff. "Their confidence, communication, and ability to connect with others have truly blossomed," Arungwa stated, as obtained by USU Today, applauding the staff's dedication to quality childcare and education.
