As obtained by USU Today, Senior Vice President for the Statewide Enterprise Kenneth L. White articulated the ambition behind the redesign, which is to better serve the diverse needs of every county in the state.
Among the key action items laid out by USU, community engagement takes center stage. USU is set to enhance programs that directly address local concerns, reinforce partnerships with industry, and provide students with greater opportunities for learning through internships and hands-on projects. This approach, driven by nearly 800 participants, will ensure academic and extension work are in tune with the specific challenges and identities unique to each community.
Under the new strategy, USU is committed to engaging learners at all stages, from early education through to career readiness and lifelong learning, establishing a more seamless pathway for education and alignment with workforce demands. Investing in infrastructure, USU is also set to improve student support and research capacity, like the new student housing projects already underway at USU Eastern, and further expansions where cost and availability limit access.
