In the early hours of Sunday, a tragic incident unfolded on the streets of Vallejo when a vehicle collided with a bicyclist at the intersection of Sonoma Boulevard and Tennessee Street, as reported by the Vallejo Police Department.
First responders from the VPD Patrol Division and the Vallejo Fire Department arrived at the scene to discover the cyclist with significant injuries. Immediate efforts to save the victim ensued, but tragically, the injured party succumbed at the hospital. This incident marks the eleventh such fatality in Vallejo this year.
The circumstances surrounding the collision have not been fully unraveled. However, the driver involved was on hand and cooperated with law enforcement, indicating that they were not under the influence at the time of the incident.
