Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Waco attorney Peter Rusek to the 74th Judicial District Court in McLennan County. His term runs until December 31, 2026, unless he or his successor is elected and sworn in earlier.
As per the Office of the Texas Governor website, Rusek practices law at Sheehy, Lovelace, and Mayfield, P.C., and is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Waco-McLennan County Bar Association, the Texas Council of School Attorneys, the National School Attorneys Association, the Judge Abner V. McCall American Inn of Court, and the Texas Association of Community College Attorneys. He also serves on the board of the Heart of Texas Goodwill Industries.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Texas A&M University and a Juris Doctor from Baylor Law School.
