The Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department is gearing up for a public meeting tomorrow. Officials are inviting community members to share their thoughts on the planned construction of a new skate park and pump track, with the session commencing at 6 p.m. sharp in the Town Hall Ground Floor Meeting Room at 301 S. Brooks St, as reported by Wake Forest.

Wake Forest purchased an 8.3-acre parcel of land next to Devon Square and E. Carroll Joyner Park in December 2023. The site, located at 701 Harris Road, is planned to accommodate local skaters and pump track users. Before receiving a $500,000 grant from the Parks & Recreation Trust Fund (PARTF) in late 2024, the town conducted multiple community meetings and an online survey to gather public input on the development.

This year marked the advancement of the skate park and pump track project in Wake Forest, with town officials announcing the hiring of New Line Skatepark Inc. The company was chosen through a publicly advertised Request for Qualifications (RFQ) and is responsible for managing the design and construction of the new facilities. Additional planned amenities include basketball and fitness courts, restrooms, and a picnic shelter.

"Tuesday’s meeting will include a brief presentation, followed by an open discussion where attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and share suggestions," says the Wake Forest announcement. Intended to be both informative and collaborative, representatives from the town and New Line Skatepark Inc. will attend the meeting to answer questions and gather input from the community.
