The fundraiser, dubbed "Tip a Cop for Special Olympics," is scheduled to take place at the Wake Forest Texas Roadhouse on Thursday from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., according to a recent release from the town's official website.
During this time, guests at the Texas Roadhouse located at 11440 Capital Blvd. will be greeted and served by the officers, who will be assisting with tasks like clearing tables, delivering beverages orders, and more. By clearing up tables, officers aim to raise awareness and promote connection between law enforcement and the public they serve by assisting the staff in everyday chores, something out of the ordinary for the badge-carrying members of law enforcement.
All the tips received by officers during the fundraiser will go directly to supporting the athletes of Special Olympics North Carolina. This involves contributing to the year-round sports, health, and fitness programs that are critical for the participants.
