Tired of endless scrolling and ready for some fresh air and human interaction? This Sunday, Wake Forest is inviting the community to drop the tech and pop some personal bubbles at the 14th Annual "Wake Forest Unplugged...Get Connected" event. According to a recent post on Wake Forest's official website, the festivities will take place at E. Carroll Joyner Park, promising games, music, and some good old-fashioned face time from 5-7 p.m. Bring your picnic baskets and lawn chairs, but leave that Bluetooth speaker at home, folks.
The upcoming event at Joyner Park will feature classic games such as sack races and mini-golf, along with a variety of food trucks offering options from tacos and flatbreads to ice cream. Music will include a free concert by "The Deloreans" starting at 5:30 p.m., playing popular hits from the 1980s. If weather affects the schedule, updates will be shared by 3 p.m. on the day of the event through the town’s digital platforms.
The event is family-friendly, with no smoking or alcohol allowed, and dogs must be kept on leashes. As part of the Concert in the Park series, The Phoebes will perform the following Sunday, marking the final show of the season, according to the Wake Forest's official website.
Attendees can also download the Town of Wake Forest app for real-time updates. Food options include Cartel Tacos, Jolly’s Catering, and JAM Ice Cream, giving visitors a range of choices to enjoy while taking part in games and live music outdoors.
