A 32-year-old Homewood resident, Devonta Youngblood, was taken into custody after successfully dodging law enforcement for three months. He was found Saturday in an unexpected hideout—a clothes dryer in a Braddock home's basement, as reported by WPXI.
Officials said that Youngblood had warrants for his arrest originating from charges of indecent exposure and open lewdness in West Mifflin, coupled with a probation violation related to a firearms offense. The elusive figure was pinpointed to a Corey Avenue residence in Braddock, where, upon a search sanctioned by Youngblood's girlfriend, they discovered the man shrouded in the appliance, WTAE detailed.
Last week, the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office got a tip about where Youngblood might be. After some investigation, they tracked him to Braddock, where the search ended in an unexpected way — finding him hiding in a clothes dryer.
When the search of the home was permitted, it didn't take long for the authorities to zero in on the basement and uncover Youngblood's makeshift sanctuary, which, for all intents and purposes, failed to serve its intended purpose of evasion. Youngblood was arrested and has since been transported to Allegheny County Jail without any further incidents occurring.
