Washington D.C. resident Nicholis Dorsey, 33, was convicted on multiple counts of misdemeanor sexual abuse with a felony enhancement, found guilty of assaulting five women at metro stations, as announced by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro. Dorsey faced a Superior Court jury that delivered the guilty verdict after hearing cases of unwanted touching and harassment that occurred between January and March of this year.

The conviction follows Dorsey's previous history with similar offenses, having been convicted in the past for sexually assaulting three women, all strangers to him. According to a statement, each assault involved him approaching victims at metro stations and inappropriately touching their buttocks or inner thigh. After the assaults, having engaged in prolonged staring and sometimes coupled with laughter, he would leave the scene.

With the strength of the investigation led by the Metro Transit Police Department, and the efforts of Special Police Officers, Dorsey was apprehended on March 5. It was during a custodial interview on the day of his arrest that Dorsey confirmed his identity after being shown 'BOLO' flyers, based on testimony presented at trial. U.S. Attorney Pirro and Chief Michael Anzallo of the Metro Police Department appreciated the work of the investigators and support staff involved in the case, highlighting Victim Advocate Veronica Vaughan's role in providing support for the victims.

The evidence and testimony at the trial revealed that Dorsey had three prior convictions for misdemeanor sexual abuse, information which contributed to qualifying him for the felony enhancement under the law. "Joining in the announcement was Chief Michael Anzallo of the Metro Transit Police Department," as U.S. Attorney Pirro commended the Metro Transit Police Department team, as the U.S. Attorney's Office reported. Dorsey's sentencing has been scheduled for November 14, by the Honorable Judge Michael Ryan.
