Waukesha is inviting the community to honor service members and veterans on Saturday, November 8. The city has planned a series of events as part of Operation Honor, beginning with a care package drive and ending with a program, concert, and free dinner at the Schuetze Recreation Center.

From The City of Waukesha's social media post, residents can participate in the "Operation Honor: Care Package Drive" by dropping off comfort items that will be donated to veterans receiving in-patient services at the Clement J. Zablocki V.A. Hospital. The drive will take place between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Following the care package drive, a "Salute to Veterans" program is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m., which then leads into a performance by the 484th Army Band at 5 p.m. The evening’s activities will conclude with a free dinner at 6 p.m., providing an opportunity for attendees to come together in recognition of those who have served, according to The City of Waukesha.
