A Wayne County man, 22-year-old Dominic Michael McBride, is charged with multiple felonies, including assault with intent to murder, after allegedly shooting a man on Sunday in Sumpter Township. The shooting happened after a couple warned the man that they were being followed from a movie theater.
McBride is accused of following his ex-girlfriend and her companion for 18 miles, from the Emagine Theater in Canton to a home on Reed Street. A 40-year-old man from the home went outside to confront McBride, who then allegedly shot him from his car and stayed until police arrived, as reported by ClickOnDetroit.
According to the Sumpter Township Police Department on their Facebook page, a victim was shot twice, with wounds to the left upper chest and a graze on the right cheek, and was taken to the hospital by HVA. Suspect McBride was arraigned in the 34th District Court with a $500,000 bond and ordered to wear a GPS tether. He faces charges of assault with intent to do great bodily harm, less than murder, and felony firearm possession. His next court appearance is on September 24.
