A crucial stretch of westbound I-30 is getting closed again. From 9 p.m. on September 19 until the early morning of September 22, you'll need to reroute. The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) confirmed the closure between Fielder Road in Arlington and Eastchase Parkway in Fort Worth is due to ongoing bridge repairs at the Randol Mill Road overpass, which sustained damage from a truck collision back in June.
TxDOT officials stated in an announcement made by the City of Arlington, that "This section of westbound I-30 will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, through 6 a.m. Monday, Sept. 22, 2025, while TxDOT crews continue to repair Randol Mill Road bridge beams." The detour will reroute traffic north on State Highway 360, west on State Highway 183, and then south on Interstate 820 to get back onto I-30. So, plan your trips accordingly, because after reopening last time, the road is closing again.
The Randol Mill Road bridge represents a significant artery in the local transportation network. TxDOT understands the urgency and has been working diligently to mitigate the impact on motorists. The City of Arlington relayed, "Emergency replacement of Randol Mill Road bridge beams to restore vital community connection." Keep in mind that while the bridge is expected to be open on Monday morning, driving through the detour route, plan for potential delays throughout the weekend.
