A 21-year-old woman experienced grave misfortune while commuting on Chicago's CTA Blue Line train early Thursday morning. According to FOX 32 Chicago, the young woman was involved in an altercation with several individuals near the Cicero station at around 12:30 a.m., which culminated in her being stabbed multiple times.
In what appeared to be a verbal dispute turned violent, the suspects, who remain at large, inflicted several stab wounds on the woman before making their escape. Drawing from statements made by the Chicago Police, ABC7 Chicago reported that the incident took place in the 700 block of South Cicero Avenue. Only the suspects, having fled away from the scene, unfortunately, left the victim to navigate her ordeal alone.
Adding to the tragedy, the victim managed to exit the train at the Oak Park station, where paramedics were called to the scene and promptly transported her to Loyola Hospital. Both news outlets confirm her condition was listed as fair, considering the circumstances. As of this writing, no suspects have been apprehended in connection with the attack, and the case is currently in the hands of Area Four detectives who are in pursuit of leads.
