The Worcester Police Department Vice Squad, following a detailed probe into crack cocaine distribution, netted two arrests yesterday, as they exercised two search warrants targeting one William Corivano, a 38-year-old local man. The investigation had accumulated enough evidence for them to also book Corivano for distribution of cocaine, according to the Worcester Police Department’s official social media post.
Early in the day, detectives observed Corivano exiting a Duxbury Road residence and subsequently tracked his movements to a business at Lincoln and McKinley Road intersection where he was then apprehended in connection to the distribution of crack and possession with intent to distribute, the orchestrated bust unfolded shortly after sunrise, and set the stage for further searches and arrests. Following Corivano's apprehension, the second search warrant was executed back at the Duxbury Road residential structure where they discovered Trent James, a 20-year-old male, who upon waking would face multiple charges.
Amidst their search, Vice Squad detectives discovered a loaded unsecured 9mm firearm with an optic; the weapon laid in the same bed where James was found sleeping, armed not only with a round in the chamber but also equipped with a large-capacity magazine. Besides the firearm, they seized about 30 individually packaged crack cocaine rocks, digital scales and various drug packaging paraphernalia; James, lacking both an LTC and FID, saw himself heaped with charges, retrieved materials and a list of severe allegations connected to the original sting operation.
Both individuals were detained with Corivano facing charges for the distribution and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute while, James tangled in a web of legal troubles for cocaine possession with intent to distribute, illegal firearm possession, and other related firearm charges including one count that specifies a failure to secure a firearm from potentially accessing minors hands.
