Wright County residents looking to pay their property taxes online with a credit card will need to wait a bit longer or find an alternative method. According to a statement from Wright County Taxpayer Services, the county's online payment portal is still unable to process credit card transactions due to an ongoing issue. The disruption has left many searching for other ways to settle their dues.
The system can currently handle e-check transactions, so those with the ability to pay through this method can still do so online. "Our staff understand this is an inconvenience, and we sincerely apologize for the disruption of service," Wright County's message reads. Residents who prefer or require the use of a credit card can make payments in person, as the taxpayer services counter continues to accept them without issue from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
County officials are working with their vendor to resolve the issue and restore full payment functionality as quickly as possible. In the meantime, they are urging taxpayers to consider the available alternatives for payment to avoid any potential late penalties associated with their property taxes.
For further updates on when credit card services will be reinstated online, taxpayers are encouraged to monitor the Wright County website. The county reassures that they are actively seeking a resolution and hopes to offer the convenience of online credit card payments again in the near future. In-person credit card transactions, meanwhile, are proceeding as normal, ensuring that there is at least one digital payment method ongoing during this time.
